With Week 8 in the books, it is time to do my weekly, who let me down blog. Like most of this season, the list is short and sweet. This weekend I went 10-3 and for the season I have improved to 87-29 (.750). I still have my critics and I still have my readers, listeners, and commenters that think that is not good enough. You know what, they are right!!! Even though I have not seen, talked to, or even heard of anyone having a season like I am having, there is still room for improvement. I am still striving to have my perfect weekend and one way or another I will. But enough is enough, lets get to this list of teams who let me down.
The first team that let me down was the Carolina Panthers. The weekend that I would roll the dice, against my better judgement, they would have a non-productive offense kind of day. Bad passes by Scam Newton, miss field goal with 26 ticks in the game by Mare, and a defense that let the Minnesota Vikings score when needed. I knew better then to pick the Panthers, especially after watching the Vikings do so well against the Packers. I just thought Newton would of been the better of the two quarterbacks, but I guess I was wrong. The Panthers losing by a field goal was the first loss of the weekend for me.
Then rolled in the second team that let me down. All I can say is, What Happened New Orleans? You went from winning 62-7 last week, to losing 31-21 to a 0-6 St. Louis Rams team. If I would have gotten the following bit of information before the weekend, there has never in the history of the NFL been the teams without a win going into week 9, I would of picked the Saints to be the one to slip and keep the planets in line. Not really, I would of still picked the Saints and would of been even madder of the fact they lost. Good job Rams, you earned the win and were impressive, especially since you did not have Sam Bradford.
Then on Monday night there was a third team to let me down. They managed to do this in two ways. One, they lost the game on a bone headed play. Who closes there hand before they recieve the snap, oh yea, Philip Rivers. Then they clost me to lose the football pool by one point. If I was going to lose it, they could of least won the game to keep my record better. Instead, they let the Kansas City Chiefs beat them in overtime 23-20. This has made the AFC West very interesting with three teams at 4-3. I know I should of picked Kansas City in this game, but even more importantly, I will not be picking the sorry Chargers next week.
Until next week, where I will once again be on my quest of having the perfect weekend!!!
